Robert whispers his secrets straight into the earth
Isn’t sure about anything except his own worth
Does Uber with one of his dad’s old cars
Drives him crazy to have to give the rich kids five stars


Ron writes songs about 45 seconds long
They end before you can even sing along
Writes about parties and drugs and uncool kids
Wish he’d done half the things that his songs says he did

People call Jason “Reggae” because he likes Eddy Grant
Sings “Electric Avenue” in electric blue pants
Claps on the 1 and 3 at the back of my shows
Ran a red light, got paralyzed, and that’s just how it goes

Ruby locked himself outside of his Camaro
Had to go to work without the restaurant Sombrero

Now he cruises past the mall with a “40” between his knees


Jake lifts weights and pulls hard at the ropes
Got over the dreams but not all of the hopes
His records all in piles so he can repaint the racks
Can’t let one go if it has two good tracks

Matt reps samples of organic body lotion
He was warned about stalking the singer from Animotion
Every Halloween he comes dressed as The Dark Knight
He talks a big game but we’ve never seen him fight

His name is Jerry, we call him Cherry Garcia
His girlfriend reminds us all a little of Medea
Got a ’49 Strat that he doesn’t know how to play
His mom got it for him on his 26th birthday


Alan writes lyrics because he can’t write prose
His one decent royalty check went straight up his nose
37 notebooks without a finished number
Sometimes the cookie bakes and sometimes it crumbles

Bobby’s not a Kennedy but he sounds like one
He’s got another 80 hours until his community service is done
Has to take the bus to work cause his license is suspended
Says he’s had a couple threesomes but we think he just pretended

Troy writes books that nobody will ever read
Spent his money on soy lattes and his dealer’s awesome weed
Can’t wait to tell you why your favorite band is shit
He really liked the Hold Steady until the mustache quit
